August 2015 - MSI congratulates its employees Mr. Burgio and Mr. Becker

MSI congratulates its employees Mr. Alessandro Burgio (Supervisor Logistics, centre of the photo) to his 15 years and Mr. Ingo Becker (Manager Human Resources, first from the left) to his 10 years of service with the company.

We are very happy and thankful to have such loyal and pleasant colleagues on board. Both contributed significantly to our company's success. We wish both of them many more years on our team.

June 2015 - J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 2015 in Frankfurt

Again this year, some of MSIs staff took part in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 2015 in Frankfurt. This 5.6-km running event is open for groups of employees from organizations within the business and public sectors. With over 70,000 runners the event in Frankfurt is the biggest of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series. This event takes place every year in many cities all over the world (e.g. Johannesburg, New York, Shanghai and Sidney).

April 2015 - Girls'Day at MSI

This year we welcomed another young lady for the Girls´Day 2015. Emily Han got a detailed inside look into a men dominated job.

On this special day Emily Han had a chance to get an inside view on our aviation business and especially the logistic department, which is usually characterized by male dominance. She started her day getting an overview on our portfolio and some information about the aviation industry in general.

On her day internship she was able to work in the receiving area while getting a first impression of the MSI warehouse management system. She successfully preformed all her tasks in the aviation logistic sector.

April 2015 - Aircraft Interiors Expo 2015

AIX 2015

While an exciting MRO Middle East 2015 has come to an end, we are organizing our upcoming fair appearance at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2015 in Hamburg. This exhibition will take place from 14/ to 16/04/2015.

March 2015 - Electronica

Our MSI team joined together with our partner Staco Systems the exhibition Electronica in Munich. Electronica is the leading international trade fair for electronic components, systems and applications.

February 2015 - MSI Dubai IACOBUCCI repair workshop is fully operative

MSI Dubai established an authorized IACOBUCCI repair workshop for the Middle East region.

The capability includes coffee makers, espresso makers and trash compactors.
In February, Dubai shop released the first Iacobucci Espresso maker P/N HFE95-20D10 that belongs to a VIP aircraft after successfully repairing multiple failures on the unit. Promotional efforts are ongoing to extend the Iacobucci capability customer base to enable operators a quick service in their vicinity.

February 2015 - New survival workshop

Survival Shop

In our continuous efforts to extend our services for our valued customers, we have established a fully operative workshop for maintaining survival equipment over the last months.
With our brand new 15.000 square feet shop as well as the experienced and OEM trained staff, we are ready to overhaul also major quantities in a world-class TAT.

MRO Middle East 2015

After our successful exhibition at MEBA in December 2014, we are currently preparing our appearance at MRO Middle East - the region's leading MRO exhibition and conference for commercial aviation maintenance. The exhibition will be held from 02 - 03/02/2015 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

January 2015 - MSI Dubai established capabilities for ATG and FTI equipment

 

Shortly after establishing the capability to repair and modify the electrical ATG window shades, Dubai shop has modified and repaired more than fifty of these units.
As these shades are high end technology, they are found in the upper class compartments of the A380, A350, A319, B777 and VIP aircraft.

FTI manufactures video recording and surveillance systems on high end aircraft. MSI Dubai workshop has established the capability of updating the DVR and proceeding to have a full repair capability. The shop has managed to do multiple software updates on DVR’s and promoting this capability to other regional operators.

December 2014 - MSI received „Authorised Specialist Partner – Airline Specialist“ certificate

Today MSI received the certificate „Authorised Specialist Partner – Airline Specialist“. The contract was signed in July 2014. MSI has been awarded by Sennheiser for the successful long term partnership, represented by Mathias Koehler, Senior Regional Sales Manager EMEA N/E Aviation.

Sennheiser and MSI completed the yearly review and set the goals and event planning for the upcoming year 2015.

We are looking forward to even further to extend our coorporation with future projects.

FTI Engineering Network GmbH appointed MSI Aircraft Maintenance Services International GmbH & Co. KG to act as the exclusive service provider in the Middle East / Africa, the Russian Federation and the CIS countries. According to this appointment, a product and service agreement was signed.

FTI Engineering Network GmbH is specializing in aircraft video systems for security, entertainment and maintenance and has more than twelve years of experience in providing technical solutions in aviation industry.

July 2014 - MSI Team joins the Opel Run 2014

2380 Runners started last evening (10/07/2014) on the 5 km long street course.

The Opel (General Motors) Run is a yearly Fun Run and gives teams and companies the chance to come together to support team work and fitness. Many local companies and groups support this yearly event in Ruesselsheim and use it not only for motivating their employees, but also for supporting the community.

MSI had 4 runners in the starting Line-up this year. Unfortunately due to a heavy thunderstorm the Award Ceremony and “After Run Party” had to be canceled.

We are proud to announce that Staco Systems and MSI signed a distributorship agreement on 19/05/2014 to link their competences and beeing more flexible and reliable in the aviation market.

Staco Systems, founded in 1958, is the world's leading provider of dependable Human-Machine Interface solutions. The company started it's business with lighted pushbutton display switches and the product suite is continually expanding (e.g. rugged keypads, electronic controllers and edge-lit panels).

Staco Systems Handshake David Wilson (Staco Systems, Vice President of Sales) and Tim Tartsch (MSI, Vice President Commercial) are sealing the signed agreement by a handshake.

March 2014 - Girls'Day at MSI

Also this year MSI provided a young Lady the possibility to get an impression of our business and capabilities. Fabiene Hodinj joined us on March 27th to take a look behind the scenes.

Fabiene started with the Sales Team in the morning, whereas Lisa Schneider, Account Manager Sales, provided an overview of our portfolio and some information about the aviation industry in general. Afterwards Fabiene received the chance to gather information within our Ruesselsheim Engine Shop as well as Electronic Repair Shop. In the afternoon the colleagues in our Logistic Centre completed the quick overview for Fabiene.

September 2013 - MSI Head Office starts with operation of Sennheiser Headsets Repair Shop

Sennheiser Headsets Repair Shop

MSI in Ruesselsheim received the EASA-145 approval after on site audit by the German Airworthiness Authorities (LBA) for the Sennheiser Headset workshop.

The Shop will provide Repair, Overhaul, Modification, Warranty-Repair, Sales and Exchange for Sennheiser Aviation Headsets to Airlines and Operators.

August 2013 - MSI and Reheat International sign agreement

MSI Aircraft Maintenance Services International (MSI) and Reheat International have signed an agreement to jointly repair aircraft galley equipment, such as ovens, coffee makers, water heaters and boilers, at MSI's Dubai repair facility located in Jebel Ali, Dubai.

In addition to adding Reheat’s specialist repair capability and expertise to the existing MSI MRO facility, the company will also position an exchange pool of ovens, coffee makers and water boilers there to support AOG and exchange requirements for customers in the Middle East and surrounding region.

The new joint galley equipment repair shop is approved by EASA, FAA and GCAA and is expected to be fully operational by 1st October 2013.

July 2013 - MSI Moscow workshop went fully operative

 

The OOO MSI Facility in Moscow, Russia received the EASA-145 approval after the successful onsite audit by the German Airworthiness Authorities (LBA) for the battery and headset workshop in July 2013.

Our repair capabilities include:

  • Sennheiser Headsets
  • Batteries and Emergency Power Packs of various OEMs

Further to the added repair capabilities, OOO MSI holds significant stock levels of Batteries, Headsets, Oxygen Bottles and Fire Extinguishers to further improve our support of the CIS customers.

OOO MSI is also ISO 9001 certified. Our central location provides us the flexibility to reach all international airports in Moscow to react in the shortest possible timeframe to customer needs.

Lord Mayor visits MSI

Lord Mayor, Mr. Patrick Burghardt from our hometown Ruesselsheim visited MSI on 14. January 2013.

We gave him an overview of all MSI business units and locations. He was very interested in the commercial development of the organization and the technical part of our engine and component workshop.

Dezember 2012 - MSI GmbH & Co. KG reached “known consignor” status in Germany

 

MSI GmbH & Co. KG has been certified by the German Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt LBA), as Known Consignor (see regulations (EC) 300/2008). From now on we are registered in the European Regulated Agents and Known Consignors Database (RAKCD). The registry number is: DE/KC/00625-01/1217

By achieving this state MSI shows its continuous ambition to improve its processes relevant to Security and Customer Service.
The objective of this program is to protect passengers, aircrew, airport personnel, and the public from acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation. The security controls applied to all air cargo are designed to provide reasonable assurance that it does not contain unauthorized weapons, explosives or other prohibited articles, which may be used to commit an act of unlawful interference against the security of civil aviation.
As the new regulations will be effective in March 2013 MSI will still be able to serve its customers in a fast way, will have a financial benefit (no screening necessary) and will improve its security standards.

November 2012 - MSI wins distributorship for WAMCO INC. lighting products

 

Wamco recognizes MSI Aircraft Maintenance Services International as an authorized distributor and reseller of Wamco’s OL, ML, and WL products. Wamco’s strength is in lighting components and materials technologies for light management. We would like to offer innovative and exclusive products such as incandescent readout displays (KW) to our customers. Therefor MSI will start to ramp up their stock on the following Wamco products:

  • Panel mount indicators

August 2012 - Increase of Stabilus Stock at MSI, Ruesselsheim

 

Due to increasing demand for Stabilus products, MSI has expanded its Stabilus stock level to cover the whole range of products with lead-times going to zero. During the past six months, more than 20 new customers have procured Stabilus Gas Springs (Dampers) from MSI.

A major project of this new activity is custom-tailored cable assembly for Electronic Flight Bags (EFB)

July 2012 - Opening of a new MSI facility in Moscow, Russia

 

Since many years Russia and its airlines/MROs have been among our satisfied customers.OOO MSI has registered its Moscow subsidiary as a Limited Liability Company end of June 2012. The office is located next to AviaStar, which has been appointed as the Sales office for MSI services in Russia and the CIS states.

We are in the process of setting up a work shop for electrical components.

May 2012 - New MSI Warehouse/Logistic Center is now operative

 

MSI has completed the move to its new Warehouse/Logistic Center in Ruesselsheim. This is part of the global new logistics solutions by MSI.

  • MSI now operates global warehouses with about 20.000 square feet of warehouse space
  • The facilities have special areas for the storage of dangerous goods and also temperature controlled areas

April 2012 - Girls day at MSI

 

Traditionally the last Thursday in April is the Girls day in Germany.

This year MSI provided a young Lady for the first time the possibility to take a look behind the scenes in the industry, prior to her personal job decision. Our “Girl” Rebecca Hummel received a warm welcome and short Company Overview by Volker Mueller, Manager, Purchasing, Sales & Repairs , including some general background information regarding the Aviation Industry, Safety and Processes as well as a complete Site Tour.

Our Customer Support Manager Wolfram Schwaerzel showed her our Engine Shop and explained the detailed test procedure for Engine Fuel Nozzles.

In the afternoon Rebecca was transferred to our Supervisor for Customs Handling Alessandro Burgio within our new Logistics Center, who provided her a rundown for the receiving/Shipping steps as well as the related customs export– and import procedures.

Rebecca felt the day at MSI was really fun:
“ The most impressing were the Engines, which are very small compared to the Aircrafts, but still provide the Power/Thrust to fly”!

This participation in the Girls Day was for MSI also a new experience. We plan to do it next year again.

March 2012 - Reorganization of our engine workshop

 

MSI successfully reorganized its engine workshop according EASA Part 145.

Mr. Dietmar Wiegand joined MSI, Ruesselsheim on 01/03/2012 as Maintenance Manager for the Engine Repair Shop with more than 33 years work experience in the aviation industry in various positions. He maintained Airframes, Engines, Electrics and Avionics of Bell Helicopters for 19 Years in the beginning of his career. The last 14 years Dietmar worked for Lufthansa Technik AERO, Alzey, in several functions up to licensed inspector. He has a strong knowledge and experience with PW100 and PW150 Series Engines, CF34 Series GE Turbofan Engines and QEC Kits of Fokker 50, Bombardier CRJ and Biz Jet and PW 901A APUs. He holds an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License from the German Civil Aviation Authorities (LBA / EASA).
